Dental Implant

İMPLANT

Implantology; It is a branch of dentistry that aims to make dental prosthesis by placing artificial tooth roots (titanium, ceramic, etc.) into the jawbone in patients with one or more missing teeth.

Implants eliminate many problems encountered in classical treatments by applying veneers, bridges or removable dental prostheses. It also offers extremely high comfort for our patients who do not have any teeth and who use a total prosthesis. With only two implants, much more stable total prostheses can be made, as well as increasing the number of implants, fully fixed, highly aesthetic and self-confident prostheses. Depending on the situation of the case, 6 or 8 implants are applied to the lower and upper jaws and the life quality of the people is increased by making fixed prostheses.

Today, it is accepted that implants will serve a lifetime. Scientific studies show that today implant success is around 98%. The most suitable implant and prosthesis design is made with special programs on computed tomography or standard X-ray images obtained before the operation, and thus the restoration results to be achieved can be evaluated in advance.

As of today, the most discussed issue in implantology is the application of implants on the day of tooth extraction or the immediate loading of the implant on the day of implantation and advanced applications for aesthetics.

In the presence of appropriate quality bone, implants can be placed without making any incisions or stitches, fixed prostheses can be placed on the same day and the waiting period of 2 to 6 months is eliminated.

Advantages of Implant Treatment

  1. Neighboring teeth do not need to be cut to make teeth or bridges.
  2. Tooth deficiencies are eliminated without permanent damage to the teeth, gums and jawbones.
  3. The loss of teeth and the melting of the jaw bones with the advancing age cause the comfort of the removable prosthesis used. Implant application stops the bone resorption and allows the construction of a fixed prosthesis. Thus, healthier, more comfortable and fixed prostheses can be made.
  4. Fixed dentures made with implants increase the quality of life.

Important Considerations in Implant Applications

1. In patients with systematic diseases such as diabetes, heart, blood pressure, rheumatic joint disorders and regularly using medication, their physician's opinion on implant treatment should be taken.
Before starting implant treatment, it should be ensured that the patient pays attention to oral hygiene.
3. The most anatomically correct bone area for the implant should be determined with advanced imaging methods.
